Booking Tips

Planning ahead is the top advice from Abbas and Mahsid A., Members since 2012.

It was a love for travel and a desire to visit new destinations that appealed to Abbas when he originally became a Member. “I decided timeshare was right for me because my original thought was that timeshare encourages you to travel and that otherwise, you would not.”

“How you get the most out of vacation ownership depends on the individual. For example, for trips that I plan with the whole family, I normally plan far in advance. Also, I take advantage of the discounted options when available,” suggests Abbas.

Stanley Park is a Vancouver must-do

British Columbia and Vancouver

British Columbia is a popular year-round travel destination, captivating visitors with its splendid mix of stunning mountain ranges and pristine coastal scenery. Vancouver is a must-see city according to Abbas and Mahsid, who are looking forward to taking their grandkids in the future.

“I like visiting Vancouver and Victoria on Vancouver Island, British Columbia,” says Abbas. “VI at Rosedale on Robson is a great location for those who want to explore downtown Vancouver. You can walk almost anywhere from the resort, and the city offers a lot to see and do.” Top activities are seeing Stanley Park in Vancouver and taking a ferry to Victoria on Vancouver Island.

Rosemary K., a Member since 2007, has fond memories of staying in Whistler, British Columbia, during the summer, where she saw “how a ski town can turn into a bike town. The hiking trails, Lost Lake Park and the surrounding valley were amazingly beautiful. The people were delightful, too.”

Find serenity and epic scenery in Birch Bay, Washington

Washington

Abbas and his family have also enjoyed family vacations in Birch Bay in Washington, staying at Sandcastle Birch Bay Hotel, a stone’s throw from the coast. “Sandcastle Birch Bay is in a quiet area. The units are great. They’re large and have all the amenities a family needs. We recommend it for families and those who like to visit small, quaint communities.”

Abbas and Mahsid used Birch Bay as a base to tour the wider region. “There are many beautiful small towns to explore within a 30- to 90-minute drive from Birch Bay. Seattle is also only two hours away — and well worth the journey for a day trip.”

Mount Hood creates a majestic backdrop for Oregon’s Hood River Valley

Oregon

Farther south down the coast, Members can traverse the wondrous landscapes of Oregon, filled with imposing forests and majestic waterfalls. Hank L., a Member since 2002, used Destination Xchange to stay at Whispering Woods Resort in Welches.

“It’s a beautiful location, nestled among pine trees and in view of Mount Hood,” said Hank. “You wouldn’t ever find this property unless you knew it was there. It’s very quiet. There’s a quiet golf course, and our balcony overlooked the ninth tee box. It’s just a different experience than being in a hotel room.”
