Flexibility Is Your Friend
Willy H. and Marilyn A. have been Members since 2004 and believe flexibility is important when choosing a vacation. “When booking with Destination Xchange, my advice is to remain flexible. If you’re set on a specific place and time, then know that availability changes. Give yourself a little leeway and be open to different places.”
Having traveled multiple times in the past two decades as a family, they have benefited from the variety of accommodations DEX has available. “When you have small children, staying in a 2-Bedroom Suite with separate bathrooms gives you more privacy. I’m also very happy to have my own kitchen when traveling.”
One resort that they look back fondly on is the family-friendly Village of Loon Mountain, nestled in the heart of the majestic White Mountains in New Hampshire. “It was perfectly located to explore the area. The Suites were large and comfortable, and the resort had nice amenities.”

Plan Trips in Advance
For John M., a Member since 2016, planning is key when booking a trip. “Our biggest tip for Members using DEX is to plan as far ahead as possible and stay flexible. This will give you the greatest selection of properties and can help open the door to multiple destinations based on what’s available.”
Two perks of DEX are the variety of locations and property types available, as John notes. “We like having access to full kitchens and resorts that feel more like a home rather than a hotel room. We can also set goals to explore more places because of the wide variety of destinations available.”
Having used DEX for six years, John has enjoyed many standout resorts from his travels. “Our favorite places include Snow Ridge Village and Ridge Top Village at Shawnee in the Poconos, as well as Club Ocean Villas II and SeaTime in Ocean City. Ocean City tops the list because it’s easy for us to drive to and we love the beach.”
Don’t Forget to Use Your Tier Credits
If you have unused Tier Credits from previous deposits made with Destination Xchange, now is the time to put them toward a once-in-a-lifetime getaway before they expire forever. Remember: The sooner you book, the better the chances of securing your preferred destination.

Use the “Search” Function
Pat B., a Member since 2002 recommends regularly searching for properties to find the right location for you. “We are computer savvy and book all our vacations. One tip I have for other Members booking with Destination Xchange is to search often until you find what you want.”
Careful use of her available points also has allowed Pat to enjoy a mix of property types. “We love to travel, and when our children were young, we could use our points to book larger accommodations. Now, my husband and I can stretch our points further by traveling in the off-season and booking smaller Suites.”
Pat has booked with Destination Xchange to take in a mix of destinations with her family, from Hawaii to Canada. “Recently, we visited the Imperial Hawaii Resort in Honolulu. We’ve also exchanged for a resort in Lethbridge, Alberta in Canada.”
Convert Your Points to Tier Credits
As a reminder, you can choose to convert your points to a Tier Credit, giving you five years from the date of deposit to make an exchange reservation. Exchanges are based on the Destination Xchange Tier system.
